suba diving for newbie/beginner

It's been more than 9 months since my last post. Don't have the feeling of blogging as I do instagraming more nowadays. And... dont have the feeling of typing in English as I have been use that language everyday since I join the company of my current job. English can be boring for sometime because it is not my first language and I still have to do unnecessary think (yes, think, not thing). Lets blog in Bahasa. Jangan risau. Kau takkan mundur walau setapak kalau kau pilih untuk berbahasa Malaysia. dan kau takkan rosakkan bahasa pon kalau kau pakai bahasa rojak. I know, ahli bahasa would not agree with me but aku peduli apa. Blog aku, aku punya suka la nak pakai bahasa apa. Ok enough about Language. As the tittle pon about scuba diving, so i'm gonna tell you my experience of becoming an open water diver.

It started April last year. Aku pergi Konvensyen Bidadari 2014 di Putrajaya International Convention Center. Banyak booth pameran kat luar dewan. One of it was Muslimah Diver. So aku pergi jumpa pengasas Muslimah Diver iaitu Kak Mas (Hjh Mastura Manap). After asked lots of questions, aku pon register as a member.

Dan masa pon berlalu. Dalam Ogos ke September 2015. Aku decide nak amek diving course. Masa ni aku dah boleh berenang sikit2 lepas join swimming class recommended by Kak Mas. So aku pilih date on October memandangkan selepas Oktober semua aktiviti di laut pantai timur akan berehat because of the monsoon.

2 October 2015, di Pulau Tioman, bermula lah sesi diving yang pertama yang dipanggil shore dive. Nama pon shore, memang kat shore je la. Tapi banyak coral. Sebelum tu belajar dulu macam mana nak set up dan pakai peralatan. BCD, tank, regulator etc. Aku ni hari kerja busy manjang (walaupon ada kawan aku sorg ni claim dia lg sgt2 busy sampai nak bls sms pon tak sempat. << sempat lg nak perli) so aku memang tak sempat nak research apa-apa pasal diving. Lagi plak aku ni jenis kasi redah saja. Takyah pikir lama-lama, buat dulu baru tau. Tapi masalah jugak cara ni. Sebab bila aku pegi diving dengan pengetahuan yang aku tahu hanyalah, diving is breathing under the water using the oksigen from the tank. Memang masak jugak nak hadam. Dengan blur2 nya. Aku agak instructor tension gak dengan aku. Tapi kalau kau google kat internet pasal diving for dummy, tak banyak la cerita pasal the struggle they have to bear before they become a certified diver.

Jadinya aku tak nak cerita  pasal step-step nak jadi certified diver. Itu kau boleh baca kat blog lain banyak cerita. Sekarang ni aku nak cerita pasal yang tak best je. Ada je yang best tapi kau kena lalui semua benda yang tak best ni dulu baru kau dapat rasa nikmatnya di pengakhiran. Nanti aku cerita lain kali pasal benda yang best yang buat aku teringat2, tak bleh nak move on sampai sekarang.

Ini perkara yang kau sepatutnya tahu dan buat sebelum kau datang pulau amek diving course:

1. Diving is not a leisure sport. It is a serious sport which it involve various skills. Masa ni lah kau tahu apa guna subjek Fizik, Kimia, Biologi time SPM dulu. Kalau kau rasa saje nak try2 diving, tak payah amek lesen/course. Kau boleh try discovery scuba diving.  Murah pon murah. Tu kalau kau jenis nak merasa/ amek experience, lepas tu dah takyah diving dah.

2. kalau kau masih ragu-ragu atau takut-takut nak diving tapi nak jugak, balik ke no.1, buat discovery scuba dulu, lepas tu baru decide nak register course ke tak. Ada jugak course yang buat practical kat pool dulu sebelum pegi laut. Lagi bagus. Especially untuk akak-akak yang cepat panik bila masuk air. nak sangat diving kann (cakap kat diri sendiri).

3. Amek swimming class please untuk yang tak pandai berenang. tapi dah pandai belum menjamin keberanian akak bila nak diving. Macam aku, aku belajar berenang breast stroke, tapi sebenarnya skill berenang free style lebih penting. Berenang dan scuba diving are totally different things ye akak2. The only similar thing between these two sports is you will get wet. berenang kat atas air. Kau breathing pakai udara sebenar, dan tak carry apa-apa kecuali pakaian renang dan goggle kalau ada.

4. Scuba diving kau kena carry tank oksigen seberat 12-14kg dan pakai weigh belt sekurang2nya 4kg. pastu kau kena carry semua tu dari atas darat sampai dalam air (untuk shore dive). kalau kau jenis tak exercise memang la sebelum masuk air kau dah tercungap2 (aku la tu). Berat badan aku cuma 46kg, kira kuat jugak la aku bleh carry semua tu. Dan jangan lupa impact selepas tu which is aku sakit belakang for few days. Pergi klinik doktor just bagi pain killer. hmm

5. Memang la kau dive pakai kelengkapan segala macam regulator untuk breathing dan mask untuk bukak mata dalam air (takkan nak dive sambil pejam mata kan), tapi jangan ingat kau takkan tertelan air langsung. Telan ok lagi, macam aku ni dah bergelas kot minum. Lemas tu takyah cakap la. Itu semua bergantung kepada skill. Macam aku ni skill bernafas kot mulut tu macam fail sket. So bila aku ter-bernafas ikut hidung mula la masalah. Mask aku selalu masuk air. Kena selalu buat mask clearing dan mengganggu mood aku nak diving. Ganggu mood instructor jugak. haha. Dia tak cakap tapi aku tau.

6. Rileks. Ini penting. kalau kau kalut dan panik lagi masalah akan timbul. Macam kawan aku sorang ni memang dia cool and rileks. Sangkut kat coral pon dia bleh duk situ diam-diam sambil tunggu orang datang release dia. Aku plak tak. terminum air sket terus aku ascend which is a big mistake while diving. Ingat ye, bila diving tak boleh shoot naik atas walau apa emergency sekali pon. Sebab, kau google lah sendiri. Susah nak explain bab fizik+bio ni.

7. Dalam air tak sama macam kau kat darat. Ye la, kau dari lahir duk darat sedut udara. Tiba-tiba duk dalam air memang kau akan rasa lain. Kau akan rasa ada je tak kena dengan badan kau. Jangan expect breathing pakai regulator tu sama macam breathing normal air. Memang la pakai regulator lagi susah. Kau akan rasa tak cukup nafas, nafas pendek, tersekat. Ini permulaan. Dah terer nanti kau akan get used to it. Again, depends on your skill. Yang penting jangan panik ingat kan regulator x function/rosak or oksigen dlm tank abes.

8. Ada part kat badan kau yang akan rasa lain sket sebab tekanan dalam air tu tak sama dengan kat luar. Contohnya telinga nanti akan rasa sakit atau rasa blocked. Jangan panik, ada cara untuk hilangkan rasa sakit tu.

9. Sun burned. Kalau taknak sun burned jangan dive. Tu je.

2014 awsomeness

My last post was about 1 year and 9 months ago. And that was the only post for 2013 and no post for 2014. After that post, lots more things happened in my life. The ups and downs that make my life more meaningful as everything is a lesson and experience that never been gained if I just sit still and didn't get out of my comfort zone. Here's the list of 2014 awsomeness.

- Holiday to Cherating with Maizon & Ilah. (To Pulau Kapas with Maizon but didn't got chance to put in 2013 awsomeness)
- Lead a team for dance competition and be the champion. (Unexpected and I was not willing to do so at first)
- One of the campaign that I develop had been advertised in tvc and news paper.
- Got the highest rate for my anual performance and be the top achiever in division. My highest achievement in my career (for the last 5 years)
- Went to interview after 5 years
- Got the new job. (The biggest change)
- Given 2 months garden leave (paid leave) <- should I educate people what is garden leave and make them believe that it does exist? No.
- Went for holiday to Krabi, Thailand with Kakmila my housemate, my sis Nurul and her friend Shasha.
- Moved to Subang (I was so sad to leave Keramat but eager to explore new place)
- Went to Yuna's secret show! I got the chance to take photo personally with her too! Got the limited sweater from her too! I went to her shop & buy her 14nov scarf too!

9th Dec 2012- FRIM Hill 1000fts from ground

11th Dec 2012- jog-run after office hour, from office to titiwangsa lake, take 1 round of the lake, went back to office, non-stop. Total distance, 4.91km

16th Dec 2012- Sunday. Ran to Giant hypermart. Shop for small groceries,walked back home. Total distance 6.33km

Tomorrow will join a run organized by nisa' wilayah.
